Following the disappointing news that Fallon Sherrock has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Women’s BDO World Professional Darts Championships, we can confirm that Sweden’s Vicky Pruim will take her place and be joining us at the indigo at the O2 in January as the next player on the BDO ranking table at the time of cut-off.

Vicky, a former World Championships semi-finalist and the 2017 World Cup Singles Champion, will face Australia’s Corrine Hammond on Saturday 4th January – she joins a top female line up which includes reigning World Champion Mikuru Suzuki, former Champions Lisa Ashton and Anastasia Dobromyslova, 2019 runner-up Lorraine Winstanley, England Captain Deta Hedman, Dutch sharpshooter Aileen de Graaf and 16-year-old debutant Beau Greaves.

The Men’s Championships also marks the return of three-times World Champion Martin Adams, who faces a two-time World Champion in Scott Waites in the opening round. England Captain and 2015 Champion Scott Mitchell faces the reigning Youth World Champion Leighton Bennett, whilst last years semi-finalist Jim Williams closes out the opening Saturday against Scotland’s Gary Stone.

Leighton is also back to defend his World Youth title against Ireland’s Keane Barry, fresh from his experience at the Alexandra Palace where he played in both the main event and took the JDC Youth World title – what a final that looks set to be!

The BDO would like to wish Fallon all the best with her future darting endeavours and we are looking forward to seeing who will rise to the challenge in 2020 to be crowned BDO World Darts Champion.

Tickets for the event are available via www.axs.com/bdochampionship
