LDO Ladies Classic Report 2018

The 7th annual LDO Ladies Classic took place on Sunday at The Blues Club in Gainsborough and with over £2000 on offer, over 70 competitors were in attendance, including many of the top women in the BDO system!

The day kicked off with a pairs competition, which saw an international final, as Russia’s Anastasia Dobromyslova, paired with Sweden’s Vicky Pruim, took the title over England’s Tricia Wright and Maria O’Brien.

<p">In the singles competition, Lisa Ashton continued the form that saw her win last weekend’s England Open into the Ladies Classic, where a 5-1 win over the Isle of Wight’s Brenda Dyer saw her claim the title and the £1000.00 top prize! Ashton had earlier victories over Wales’s Nikki Goldsmith and number 8 seed, Casey Gallagher, before meeting Beau Greaves in the semi-final in a closely fought match, which saw the young Yorkshire player take the first leg with a 112 checkout. However, 14 and 15 dart legs in the third and fourth put Ashton back in control and she won 4-2 with an 86.79 average. Dyer’s journey to the final included wins over Lindsey Ashton, Trina Gulliver, Leanne Topper and a 4-0 semi-final win over Vicky Pruim.

The results could should see some slight changes to the rankings in the race to qualify for the 2019 World Championships!
