Three times Men’s World Master 2008, 2009 and 2010 (Semi-Finalist 2011) and three times World Pro Champion 2007, 2010 and 2011 (runner-up in 2006) he is the reigning 2011 Dutch Open Champion (successfully defending his 2010 title). He is also the reigning and 9 times British Pentathlon Champion. In 2011 he captained England Men to victory in the Six Nations Cup, BDO British Internationals (a repeat of 2010) and the WDF World Cup (where he was runner-up in the Men’s Singles). He led England Men to WDF Europe Cup success in 2010 and also won the Europe Cup Pairs title with Scott Waites. He won the same title in 2009 with John Walton and has now done so with three different partners. He is England’s most capped player and its longest serving captain. A Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Winmau World Masters, he was runner-up in the 2009 Zuiderduin Masters and a Semi-Finalist in 2010 and 2011. His numerous titles are too many to list, but he has made more Lakeside appearances than any other player – this will be his 19th consecutive World Pro. Away from the oche he’s an ambassador for the UK World Conservation Trust and has his own adopted wolf, Duma. He is happily married to Sharon and they have two grown-up sons, Warren and Darren.

2011 Winmau World Masters Champion (Quarter-Finalist 2010), 2011 Zuiderduin Masters Champion and 2011 BDO Gold Cup Pairs Champion (with Garry Thompson) he has enjoyed a great run-in to Lakeside by winning the 2011 Swedish Open, 2011 BDO British Open and the 2011 WDF Wold Cup Men’s Singles titles. He was runner-up in the 2011 Turkish Open Men’s Singles and a Semi-Finalist in the Men’s Pairs. He is also 2010 Czech Open, Turkish Open Singles and Pairs Champion and Grand Slam Of Darts Champion (runner-up in 2009). A Quarter-Finalist in the 2009 Zuiderduin Masters, he was runner-up in the 2009 BDO British Classic. He won the 2008 Swedish Open, 2008 BDO Gold Cup Men’s Singles and 2008 Belgium Open. He played for England in the 2009 WDF World Cup in America and in the victorious 2010 WDF Europe Cup, when he won the Pairs title with Martin Adams, and the 2011 WDF World Cup where he won Team and Men’s Singles Gold Medals. He’s also enjoyed victory with England in the 2010 and 2011 Six Nations Cup and BDO British Internationals. Runner-up on his debut in the 2011 World Pro, he’s the 2011 BDO British Classic Champion and 2011 Czech Open Champion. He was runner-up in the 2011 Dutch Open and the 2011 Winmau World Masters. He was a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Belgium Open, runner-up in the 2010 Belgium Open and a Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 World Masters, 2010 and 2011 Zuiderduin Masters, England Masters and BDO International Open. 2010 was a great year for the proud Yorkshireman. He won the German Open, England Open Singles and Pairs and Belgium Open Singles and Pairs. He plays for a number of local teams, including The Butcher’s Arms and Hickleton Village Hall. He was a very proud man when he made his England debut in this year’s victorious BDO British Internationals. Uniquely, he threw his first dart at the age of 2 and then ‘retired’ when he was 12 before starting again when he was 22! His partner is Lorraine Farlam, who is also back at Lakeside for her second year.

The 2011 Scottish Open and 2011 Center Parcs Masters Men’s Singles Champion, he was 2010 Northern Ireland Open Men’s Singles Champion (Quarter-Finalist 2011) and a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 England Masters and runner-up in the 2010 Zuiderduin Masters. He was also a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 England Open. 2009 Winmau World Masters and Welsh Masters runner-up, he was a Semi-Finalist in the Northern Ireland Open and a Quarter-Finalist in the UK Open. He won the 2008 Wales National Championships and reached the Semi-Final of the BDO International Open. He’s a Cheshire County player and who recorded an incredible 42.94 single-dart average during the 2010 Inter-County season. A proud England International, he was in the victorious England team which won the 2010 BDO British Internationals. He enjoys fishing, golf, boxing and football and supports his home town of Liverpool FC.

He is the 2011 Mariflex Open Champion and was a Semi-Finalist in the BDO British Open, German Open, Welsh Open and Zuiderduin Masters. He was also a Quarter-Finalist in the BDO British Classic and reached the Last 16 of the 2010 Winmau World Masters. He’s a student who made an impact last year by playing in a jacket. He is now known as ‘Mr.Coat’. He enjoys poker and soccer.

He was also a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 German Open, 2011 Welsh Open, 2011 BDO British Open and the 2011 Isle-of-Man Open. He was a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Turkish Open Men’s Singles and Mixed Pairs. The 2010 British Pentathlon Champion (he also won it in 2002 and 2006), England Classic Men’s Pairs and Isle-of-Man Open Pairs (with Martin Atkins). He won the 2010 Turkish Open Pairs with Scott Waites and was runner-up in the 2010 England National Singles, and a Semi-Finalist in both the 2010 Welsh Masters and 2010 Welsh Classic Men’s Singles. The 2011 Northern Ireland Open Champion, he was runner-up to Ted Hankey in the 2009 World Pro (he was a Semi-Finalist in 2004) and went on to win the 2009 Scottish Open, 2009 BDO International Open, the 2009 Welsh Classic and the 2009 Turkey Open. And just for good measure he was WDF World Cup Singles Champion. He was also runner-up in the 2009 England Open and a Semi-Finalist in the 2009 Winmau World Masters, and a Quarter-Finalist in the Grand Slam of Darts. He was 2008 Welsh Masters Champion and 2009 runner-up. In the 2007 International Darts League he hit a 9-darter and won a car on his 46th birthday! His road to Lakeside includes runner-up spots in the 2011 German Open and Swedish Open, and Semi-Finals in the 2011 England Open and Dutch Open, plus a Semi-Final spot in the 2010 Zuiderduin Masters. Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Winmau World Masters, he was also runner-up in the Isle-of-Man Open Men’s Pairs and German Open Men’s Pairs (with Martin Adams). He was 2008 BDO British Classic Champion, 2008 England Open Champion and runner-up in the 2008 BDO International Open. He represented Scotland in the 2009 WDF World Cup in the USA and Republic of Ireland. A self-employed handyman, he played American football for the Glasgow Diamonds for 11 years, but retired through injury and has been playing darts ever since.

It was in the 2003 World Masters that he shot to prominence as Men’s Masters Champion, having been runner-up in 2002. He was also a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 Dutch Open and 2011 Czech Open and made the Last 16 in the 2011 Centerparcs Masters, Antwerp Open and Mariflex Open. A player for only 7 years he enjoys Spanish holidays and supporting his favourite football clubs, Eindhoven and Liverpool. He’s a student who is studying accountancy, so he’s good with numbers!

The 2010 BDO British Open Champion, he was also 2009 England Open Champion and runner-up in the 2009 BDO International Open. He famously won the 2000 World Pro with an unforgettable 170 checkout and a record-breaking 48 maximums in just 46 minutes! In 2009 he recorded 42 maximums and took a little longer – 133 minutes to be precise! He was also runner-up in the 2001 Lakeside World Championship and won four major titles in 2003: The Dutch Open (he also won it in 2002), German Open, BDO England Open and the Denmark Open. In 2011 he reached the Last 16 in the Isle Of Man Open, Antwerp Open, BDO British Open, Welsh Open, Swiss Open and England Classic to secure his 2012 Lakeside place. He was runner-up in the 2009 BDO British Open and Semi-Finalist in the 2008 BDO British Open, Swiss Open and Vonderke Masters. Having earned the final Invitation Table place at Lakeside, he makes his debut after playing darts for 12 years. He won the 2010 Denmark Open and was runner-up in the 2011 Scottish Open and a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Finland Open and 2011 Hungarian Open. He was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 Center Parcs Masters and enjoyed Last 16 places in the 2011 Mariflex Open and 2011 Swedish Open. He is a proud Kent County player, is a painter by trade and supports Tottenham Hotspur.
ANDY BOULTON
England: Born 25/2/73. Lives in Kilwinning, Ayrshire.
Nickname: ‘X-Factor’
Lakeside Best: Second Round 2008.
Having come through the 2011 International Play-Offs he was last at Lakeside in 2008 and reached the Second Round. He was back again last year but exited in the First Round. He is ranked 124th in the BDO Invitation table and won the Fife Open in 2009 and 2010, the 2009 Granite City Open, the 2009 and 2010 Lossiemouth Open, the Ayrshire Open and Kinross Open. He was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 Welsh Classic and a former Cheshire Open Singles and Pairs Champion and Isle-of-Man Pairs Champion. He loves singing and Karaoke (hence the nickname) and supports Stoke City FC.

The only player from Belgium at Lakeside this year, he was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 WDF World Cup Men’s Singles, 2011 Dutch Open, 2011 German Open and 2011 Romanian Open, and a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 French Open. A proud International who has played in WDF Europe and World Cups, he’s been a player for 15 years and his favourite football team is Barcelona.
STEVE DOUGLAS
England: Born 17/11/77. Lives in Gillingham, Kent.
Lakeside Best: Second Round 2000.
He made his Lakeside debut in 2000 and was here in 2010 and 2011. His 2011 successes include Runner-Up in the Latvia Open, a Semi-Final spot in the Mariflex Open and Luxembourg Open, and Quarter-Final places in the Scottish Open and BDO British Open. He also reached the Last 16 in the 2011 Isle of Man Open, German Open and England Classic. A member of the victorious England team in the 2010 BDO British Internationals (having won his first England cap in the Internationals at Lakeside in 1999) he was a Semi-Finalist in the 2010 Dutch Open. A product of the BDO youth system, his first major success came at the European Youth Championships in 1995, when he competed in the very first England youth side and went on to win the Boys Singles at just 17. He has a very impressive County record, having made over 100 appearances for both Kent and London with many ‘man of the match’ performances. He is co-owner and administrator of the BDO Players Forum.’

He was also a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 Swedish Open and his road to this year’s Lakeside has also included a Quarter-Final spot in the Turkish Open Singles and the Semi-Finals of the Men’s Pairs and Mixed Pairs. He’s had Last 16 places in the 2010 Centerparcs Open and the 2011 Scottish Open, Belgium Open. He was a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 England Classic, 2011 Top of Ghent, 2011 Zuiderduin Masters and a Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 BDO International Open and a Semi-Finalist in the 2010 Belgium Open and 2010 England Masters. He made his England debut in 2009 and was a member of England’s victorious team which won the 2010 BDO British Internationals. The 2010 and 2011 French Open Men’s Singles Champion and 2011 Luxembourg Open Champion, he was Runner-Up in the 2011 Czech Open, a Semi-Finalist in the 2011 Antwerp Open and a Quarter-Finalist in the 2011 Swiss Open and Top of Ghent. A Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 Czech Open, he was a Semi-Finalist in the 2009 Zuiderduin Masters and 2009 British Open Pairs Champion. When he lived in Sweden he was their No.1 in 2007 and 2008. He was also 2007 Swedish Master and a Semi-Finalist in the 2007 Finland Open, 2008 Welsh Open and Welsh Classic. He’s and East Renfrewshire county player and has made three International appearances for Scotland. He’s a fencer by trade and enjoys golf and supporting Rangers FC.

He played a major role in the Silver Medal performance of the Dutch National Team in the 2008 WDF Europe Cup and went one better at the WDF World Cup in America, when The Netherlands took the team prize and he was runner-up in the World Cup Singles. A Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 Scottish Open, he won the Man of Match award in the England’s victorious 2010 BDO British Internationals team, with a 31.31 average in the match against Wales. The 2008 Scottish Open and Welsh Classic Champion, he won the 2007 Dutch Open Men’s Pairs and the 2006 Yorkshire Classic. An engineer by trade, other than darts he enjoys football and horse-racing.

Also a Quarter-Finalist in the 2010 Dutch Open and 2009 Zuiderduin Masters, he was 2008 Finland Open Champion, 2007 Denmark Open Champion and Belgium Open Pairs Champion and runner-up in the 2007 Dutch Open.
