The LDO’s annual flagship competition once again took place at the Blue’s Club in Gainsborough. A record number of ladies were in attendance, with 86 players vying for the top prize.

2018 LDO Classic winner and current World Number One Lisa Ashton headed the list of seeds, which also included ten-times World Champion Trina Gulliver, England’s Deta Hedman and Russia’s Anastasia Dobromyslova.

With entries warranting eight seeds, Ashton met Beau Greaves, seeded in eighth place following her recent success at the England Open, in the quarter finals, where Greaves progressed with a 4-2 win over the Lancashire Rose.

With Greaves in the semi-finals, she would face Surrey’s Laura Turner, who won her spot in the semi-final with a 4-2 win over Montgomery and Radnor’s Evonne Taylor. Anastasia Dobromyslova progressed into the semi-finals with a 4-1 over England’s Casey Gallagher, with Deta Hedman completing the semi-final line-up with a 4-0 win over Tara Deamer.

Greaves made light work of Turner, winning in straight legs with an 88.41 average to move into the final. She was joined by Dobromyslova, who edged out Hedman 4-2 in the second semi-final.

The final saw the pair neck and neck at four legs all going into the ninth and deciding leg. Dobromyslova fired in four consecutive ton plus scores to leave herself on double eight after 12 darts, however missed doubles proved costly for Dobromyslova and Greaves dug deep to secure the winning double and take her fifth consecutive BDO ranked title!
