TV EXTENDS BDO CONTRACT FOR WORLD DARTS TO 2013
BBC
TV Sport has announced that its exclusive contract with the British Darts
Organisation to screen the World Professional Darts Championships is being
extended to 2013.
“This
is wonderful news for BDO darts, our players and the millions of fans who tune
into the BBC’s coverage of our
premier darts Championships”, says Olly Croft OBE, Managing Director, BDO
Enterprises Ltd.
“It’s a unique
broadcasting partnership for darts, and we are extremely proud of it.
There are very few sports which can boast of a
BBC contract that is now in its fourth decade.
“We have the best
sports broadcaster in the world and in turn we are delighted to have provided
them with the very best in World Darts since
1978.”
BBC

New BBC Darts presenter
ROB WALKER will be co-presenting the 2009 Winmau World Masters with Bobby George
for BBC TV Sport over the weekend
of September 5th & 6th.
Rob reported on the
BBC’s Olympic Sailing coverage in Beijing last August and in April this year
took up the dual role of reporter and MC for the BBC’s World Snooker
Championships from Sheffield.
