It is with deep sadness that I have to report toyou that ShirleyMoody passed awayin the East
SurreyHospital early this
morning 21st April 2010.
Shirley had been with
the Sussex Darts Organisation many years as a players and Ladies Team Manager
also in the role of an official serving on the Sussex committee for many years.
Shirley also was
involved in the Ladies and Men’s Super league as Chairlady of the
Ladies and Treasurer of the Ladies Super League also Treasurer ofthe Men’s Super League.
Shirley could be seen
alongside Barry at all the events for the County and the Local league and
competitions. Shirley ran the
SussexCounty shop it seems for
ever.
Shirley will be sadly
missed by us all.

BDO AGREEMENT WITH WINMAU TO 2015
The BRITISH DARTS
ORGANISATION have extended their agreement with the WINMAU DARTBOARD COMPANY to
officially endorse their boards until 2015 – which means that Winmau Dartboards
will celebrate four decades as the BDO’s dartboard of choice.
Announcing the
longest-running agreement in world darts, Ian Flack, Sales & Marketing Director
of Winmau says:

our premium quality Blade 111 bristle dartboards are used in all BDO
tournaments, including the BBC
televised Lakeside World Professional Championships and of course, the Winmau
World Masters. It’s the perfect combination of the best dartboard in the world

BDO YOUNG PLAYER MIXED SINGLES CHALLENGE 2010
The entry form for the Regional Heats for the 2010 event is
now available. The closing date for entries is Friday 25th July 2010.
The following players have been selected to represent
England in the forthcoming WDF Europe Cup Youth which will be played in
Kirchheim, Hessen, Germany 8th - 11th July.

Dicken (17) (West Midlands), Jake Jones (16) (Staffordshire), Zoe Jones (17)
(Warwickshire) and Lauren Hitchen (16) (Surrey).

GERMAN OPEN 2010
England's Dean Winstanley won the men's singles at
the German Open which was played in Bochum yesterday. He scored a narrow 3-2
sets victory over Ronny Huibrechts from Belgium. Gary Robson and Ross Smith were
the losing semi-finalists.
Tricia Wright captured the women's crown beating
Russia's Irina Armstrong by 2 sets to nil. The losing semi-finalists were Fran
Hoenselaar (Nl) and Stefi Lück (Ger).

BDO BRITISH INTERNATIONALS 2010:
ENGLAND DO THE DOUBLE
England Men had no problem retaining the BDO British
Internationals title with comfortable wins over Wales and Scotland. The England
ladies were equally convincing when regaining the title which was won by Wales
last year.
Nottinghamshire's Paul Harvey and Worcestershire's Stephanie Smee
won the Singles Events in the 2010 Lincolnshire Open which was played at
the State Club, Gainsborough last Sunday. Stephanie beat Dawn Stanley (Norfolk)
4-2 and Paul beat Paul Jennings (CountyDurham)
4-1 to lift the titles. Staffordshire's Andy Beardmore hit a 9 dart
leg.

came through a field of nearly 500 players to
land the Antwerp Open title at the weekend. He triumphed over Dutchman
Gino Vos by 3 sets to 2.
Deta Hedman
added yet another title to her long list with a straight
sets win over Karin Krappen.
The Youth winners were both from the Netherlands. Marilou Daamen winning
the Girls Singles and Jimmy Hendriks taking the Boys title.
