WALES ANNOUNCE THE INTERNATIONAL
LINE-UP FOR 2008

Wales selectors have made seven
changes to their International Squads for 2008, with six of
those changes coming in the Men's Team.
Linda
Jones of Oxfordshire is the only new member in the Women's
Squad, replacing team Captain Linda Rogers-Pickett who
announced her retirement from International Darts last week,
after representing her Country on 60 occasions. Julie
Gore is the women's new captain.

Of the
six newcomers in the Men's 13, two are new caps,
Justin
Davies
(Glamorgan) and Ian Jones (Gwynedd),
while MartynFreeman
(Avon), Mark Salmon (Glamorgan) with Gwent's County duo of Stephen
Cake and Alan Walker are recalled to the line-up.

2008 LAKESIDE WORLD PROFESSIONAL DARTS CHAMPIONS |

HOME BDO INTER-COUNTY DEBUTS FOR CLWYD ON 2ND FEBRUARY |

Mark
Webster and Anastasia Dobromyslova will create darts history on February
2nd when they play at home for Clwyd in the
BDO
Inter-County
Championships as the newly crowned Lakeside
World Professional Darts Champions.
Never before has a BDO
County
been represented by the two reigning World Champions, and Mark and
Anastasia will be taking their trophies with them to celebrate with
their team-mates.

Mark, the 24 year-old Men’s
World Professional Darts Champion from Denbigh, is the third Welshman to
win the most famous title in World Darts, but the very first from
North Wales.
Russian
darts sensation Anastasia (23), who now lives in
Ellesmere Port, was crowned Women’s World Professional Darts
Champion after ending the unbeaten seven year reign of
England’s Trina Gulliver.
The double
Lakeside
World Champions will be competing in an all-Welsh Inter-County match
against Gwynedd at Clwyd’s home venue:
Penyffordd Royal British Legion, Chester Road, Penyffordd, on Saturday,
February 2nd.

The England squad for the 2008 Nations Cup has been announced and is as follows.
Martin Adams (Captain), Steve Farmer, Tony O'Shea, Darryl Fitton, Scott Waites,
and John Walton.
The event will be played in Merthy Tydfil, Wales on 23 - 24 February.

two sets up against Glenn Moody. He then lost his way and Moody won the
third set 3-0. The third and fourth sets were all nerves and missed
doubles but Webster shaded both sets for the match.

sensational defeat at the hands of Dutch qualifier Fabian Roosenbrand. Gary

mixed quality. Robson started well and threw high quality darts to take the
first two sets. After that the match deteriorated.

Nr 1 Seed Mark Webster survived a severe case of "double trouble" before
winning the opening match of the Championships. He took a two set lead before
Ian Jones put up a spirited fight to pull a set back. In the final set all
five legs went against the darts with Webster hitting the required D8 for
